BIOGRAPHY

I was born in 1986 in Rehoboth MA, graduated Bennington College in 2009, lived in Brooklyn NY from 2010 – 2016, and currently reside in Asheville NC, where I work as an Arborist.

SOUR SONGS is a project that is being realized by Asheville-based musicians Laura Franke, Jeremiah Satterfield, and Jackson Emmer, as well as a crew of musicians still based in NY (see below).

In NY I led the band ANAWAN, aka TWVE. We released ANAWAN LP in 2014 through New Amsterdam Records, ALL MATERIAL in 2013 with New Amsterdam Records, and SOFT WINGS in 2012 independently. We gigged consistently in NYC at venues such as Joe’s Pub, Glasslands, and Baby’s All Right. ANAWAN LP received many favorable reviews, including ones from WNYC, Popmatters and more.

ANAWAN included Michael Chinworth, Maia Friedman, Alice Tolan-Mee, and Ethan Woods, and at times included Sandy Gordon, Andrew Wells Ryder, Elori Kramer, Jo-Anne Hyun, Judith Shimer, Eliza McKelway, JJ Beck, Jackson Randall, Anastasia Clarke, Andrew Chinworth, Will Lulofs, and Jessica Green.

In NY, I collaborated with (and in some cases continue to collaborate with) Ethan Woods and Matt Evans as ROKENRI, Jesse Rifkin aka JESSE R BERLIN, Michael Chinworth, Jackson Emmer, JJ Beck, Asa Horvitz, Tom Bogdan, Kitty Brazelton, Will Lulofs, Sxip Shirey, choreographer Meghan Frederick, and many more. I also worked as the personal assistant to Meredith Monk for part of my time in NY.
